Kings College DISCE team present at the CAMEo conference, University of Leicester, on September 5th and 6th 2019

Members from the King’s College London DISCE team will be presenting this week at the third annual CAMEo (the Research Institute for Cultural and Media Economies) conference held at the University of Leicester. The conference, titled ‘Re-Futuring Creative Economies’ brings together academics, policymakers and practitioners interested in the possible social and economic futures of the creative economy. Exploring themes including challenges to mainstream creative economy policy and practice; inequalities in cultural and creative work; how to improve inclusion and make creative economies ecologically sustainable – the conference provides a great opportunity to share some reflections of the DISCE project. The KCL team will present papers on our work around the creative economy and cultural development, alternative narratives of growth, emerging constructs of changemaking from a grassroots/activist level and ideas on re-imagining creative education for the future creative economy.
